Too many in our community suffer from dental disease Good oral health is fundamental to a healthy life. Yet every day people in Washington bear the cost and pain of dental disease. They lose sleep and can't eat. They miss school or work. Their bad teeth make them feel inferior and they become socially isolated. Sometimes they develop serious oral infections. But because they can't afford to see a dentist, they put off getting care and end up in hospital emergency rooms. It doesn't have to be this way, because dental disease is preventable and can be treated at low cost when it does occur. Washington State Smile Partners has a solution Washington State Smile Partners (WSSP) was formed by a group of dental hygienists to provide a workable solution to this serious health problem: Preventive dental care and treatment at reduced cost Programs that target those most at risk for dental disease Easy-to-access care through mobile programs at non-traditional sites Our programs serve low-income pregnant women and their babies, low-income pre-school and school-aged children, and adults over 60. Teams of dental hygienists and their assistants work with mobile equipment in public schools and preschools as well as a senior center and a local hospital. We serve King and Kitsap counties and partner with associates in Whatcom, Thurston, Pierce, Benton and Franklin counties. View Site Map
